Caring For Your Printhead

Improper care of a printhead can cause poor print quality and premature printhead failure.  As a result, it is important that you care for your printhead by following these helpful tips:

• Clean your printhead after every roll of ribbon with a non-abrasive cloth soaked in Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)
• Vacuum and dust printers frequently
• Always use ribbons which are slightly wider than the label stock

• A ribbon that is too wide will wrinkle during printing
• A ribbon that is too narrow causes a white wear mark on the printhead, resulting in printhead damage

• Remember that cleaning leaders are not a substitute for OEM recommended cleaning methods
